Last night we had our coaches meeting and the teams have been distributed to them for contacting the players. Below is a listing of the practice times for next week for all divisions. Please remember that Graduate Division Practices will be at Ecole Cathdrale, and ALL OTHER DIVISIONS will be at St. Francis of Assisi.

Our close relationship with coach Barry Smith goes back a long way, and we appreciate the commitment he and his players have shown to our athletes over many years. Thanks Barry!

Our thanks to coach Steph Barrie and the Queen’s Men’s basketball team for taking time away from their studies and season preparation to come to St. Francis of Assisi to run a shooting clinic for our players. All of us in attendance were impressed with the time taken to help each individual player throughout the evening. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of our players! Our shooting clinics wrapped up tonight with a visit from Coach Alyssa and players from the St. Lawrence College Women’s Basketball team coming to St. Francis of Assisi to work with players from our Little Gals and Girls divisions. Our thanks to SLC Head coach Taryn Turnbull for making it happen. The partnership that we have with both St. Lawrence and Queen’s is one that we value greatly and we will never take for granted. Tonight you made a difference in the lives of our athletes that they will remember for a long time. Alyssa, a special thanks to you for coming home to give back to the league. Our thanks to coach Nicole Barnard and her players from the Queen’s Women’s Basketball team for coming to St. Francis of Assisi last night to run a Shooting Clinic for our Biddy Division, and to Coach Barry Smith and the St. Lawrence College Men’s team for going to Cathedral to work with our Graduate players. All reports are that the night was a huge success. We are VERY lucky to have the relationship that we do with both Queen’s and St. Lawrence, and we appreciate the players and coaches taking the time from their studies and season preparation to spend time making a difference in the lives of our players. In our history we have been very fortunate to have developed close relationships with both Queen’s University and St. Lawrence College. That tradition continues next week, when both the men’s and women’s teams from both schools will be coming to our gyms to provide opportunities for our players to learn skills to help develop their shooting ability. We are very grateful for the players and coaches for taking the time from their season preparation to give back to the children in our league – a league some of them got their start in. We have had inquiries about where the player evaluations will be tonight. Player evaluations in the Little Guys, Girls, Biddy and Little Gals Divisions will be held at St. Francis of Assisi School. We apologize for any confusion. All practices and games for teams in all divisions except the Graduate Division will be at St. Francis of Assisi. Graduate practices and games will be at Ecole Cathedrale.

Our thanks to Susan, Nancy, Brenda, June, Nora, and the students in Pearl’s house for helping get all of the uniforms “clothes line fresh” for this season. Your commitment to the children in the league is greatly appreciated!
