Here are the scheduled home games for the men’s and women’s teams at Queen’s and St. Lawrence for the month of October. We will post the November games at the end of October. This is a chance to see exciting basketball AND support the players and programs that support us.

This weekend the St. Lawrence College Men will play host to their annual pre-season tournament on Friday and Saturday. They open the tournament Friday at 4 pm with a game against St. Foy. When they play Saturday will depend on how they do that game. This is a chance to support the program that has been a big supporter of what we do.

I will post shortly the schedules for both the Queen’s and St. Lawrence men’s and women’s programs for the month of October to give you a chance to support the players that gave up their time to run shooting clinics for you.

We have resumed selling clothing in all divisions on game nights from now until the end of games on October 24. Short sleeve t shirts ($15), long sleeve T shirts ($20), caps and touques ($15) and special order hoodies ($35) are available. Don’t put off your purchase!

Because of a conflict at Ecole Cathedrale on Monday December 9, the games on the printed schedule for that date have been moved to Tuesday December 10 in the same order, beginning with game 1 at 7 pm. Here is the new schedule for that date.

On Friday November 22, 2019 we invite former players, volunteers and supporters to join our current volunteers at the Queen’s Inn on Brock Street starting at 7 pm in a celebration of the history of the league that Don “Pete” Petersen founded 65 years ago. It will be an evening of shared stories, memories, laughter and camaraderie as we celebrate the special bonds formed from being part of something so unique in our community.

On Wednesday November 13 from 11 am until closing, the East Side Mario’s location at Weller Avenue and Division street will donate 10% of all sales to the Pete Petersen Basketball League. What a great opportunity to enjoy lunch or dinner (or both if you are inclined!) at a great family restaurant while you make a difference in the lives of the children of our community.

On Wednesday October 23 Five Guys Burgers and Fries on Gardiners Road will donate $1 from every burger, poutine and milkshake sold between 5 pm and 8:30 pm back to the league. Tell your friends, your neighbours and your friends neighbours about this great opportunity to support the league and enjoy GREAT burgers too!

Clothing sales will be available again in all divisions starting again this week as we start practices.  Long Sleeve T Shirts ($20), Short Sleeve T Shirts ($15), Caps ($15) will be available for purchase right away, and hooded sweatshirts (Special orders @ $35.00 each)will be available to order. We have the sweatshirts for sizing, and they will be on display game nights so you can see the colour and style. The T Shirt , cap and hoodie designs for this season can be seen by clicking on our Merchandise tab. The t shirts are orange with the sketch of league founder Don “Pete” Petersen as part of the logo, and the 65 in green as homage to the league roots at St. Pat’s school. The hoodies have the official league crest full chest.

Clothing will be on sale and available for purchase or order until October 24, at which time we will place our FINAL order so that we can have them available for pick up before we break for the holidays. DON”T PROCRASTINATE! Get these special collectors items now.

On Tuesday night Doug Jeffries from CKWS paid a visit to the gym and filmed our Little Guys shooting clinic with the Queen’s men’s basketball team. That story will be broadcast tonight on CKWS Sports at 6 and 11. Our city is lucky to have Doug shining a light on local sports. His commitment to the sports community in Kingston should be appreciated by everyone involved in local sports at all levels. It is certainly appreciated by us! Thank you Doug!

Last night we had our coaches meeting and the teams have been distributed to them for contacting the players. Below is a listing of the practice times for next week for all divisions. Please remember that Graduate Division Practices will be at Ecole Cathdrale, and ALL OTHER DIVISIONS will be at St. Francis of Assisi.
