Along with the very generous donation of basketballs by Leon’s, and the donations of Door Prizes by Pasta Genova and Chez Piggy Restaurant, and anonymous donations made at the RCHA Club event, there have been several other donations to our program we wanted to bring you up to date on.

Personal donations by Chris Brideau and his family, Mary and Neil Neasmith, Don Duffy, Beth Rines, Frank and Susan Warnica, Tori Boshart, Brad Hill and the supporters who graciously gave us a cash donation Tuesday night. Our thanks to all of you for believing in what we do for the children in our community. We want you all to know you have made a difference in the lives of our players and their families. We will continue to try to live up to the note that came with Brad Hill’s donation : “Hope this helps in running the best minor sports program in Canada.”

Last night we put into service the basketballs donated for our Little Guys and Little Gals Division players by Leon’s and the McKercher family. In total, they donated 15 new basketballs to replace old stock, and in this case to add to the basketballs available to our younger group. This is a significant donation, and we want to again thank the McKercher family for believing in what we do for the children in our community.

Saturday November 2 we had a great Fund Raising Event at the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery with a sold out audience enjoying the music of the band Hat Trick. The total raised was $1455!!! It was a great evening of music enjoyed by everyone, and we want to thank the band – Michael K Meyers, Dan Charbonneau and Mark Ready – for giving us music to sing along with, and keeping the dance floor full all night; the RCHA Club for being such good hosts; Frank and Susan Warnica for leading the organization efforts and supplying door prizes; Virg at Pasta Genova and Zoe at Chez Piggy for the donation of door prizes again for the event; Maggie McDougall for helping with the door prize draw; and most of all, our thanks to the attendees that came out in support of the league. We hope that some of you discovered this gem for supporting local musicians and live music in Kingston. Mark your calendars- Sunday November 17 we will be having our annual Two Ball Tournament at St. Francis of Assisi. There will be separate tournaments for each division in our league. Doors will open at 10:30 and we will get started with the Little Guys and Little Gals Divisions at 11. For the three older divisions we will need you at the gym by 11:30 so we can work at setting the draws. The rules are below, and we will have demonstrations at half time of Graduate Division games November 4 and for all other divisions November 11-14.
