Practice Schedule

The coaches meeting was held on Wednesday September 18 and the coaches will be contacting the players in the next few days to let them know what team they are on. Below is the practice schedule for next week. The graduate Division players will also be notified of their teams but we do not have their practice schedule at this writing.

Security

There are some basic points that all parents, players and supporters need to understand before the season begins. We want this year to be a positive experience for everyone involved with the league, and following these items will help ensure that happens. We ask that the adults reading this section of the newsletter please review the contents with your athletes.

1) All players, coaches and supporters are to enter and leave St. Pat’s school by the back door located at the south west end of the building. Access by car is at the north end of the upper school parking lot. Under no circumstances are cars to drive on the field behind the school. Damage was done to the yard in the past by vehicles driving on the field after games. Specific access instructions for Ecole Cathedrale will be reviewed with the Graduate Division players and supporters during player evaluation night activity.
2) Lock your car. We have had items stolen from vehicles in the past that were parked in the parking area behind the school. Do not leave items in plain sight within the vehicle.
3) Players should not leave valuables or items of value in the dressing room. Leave them at home, bring them to the bench area, or leave them with an adult who may have come with you to the game. The dressing rooms are shared facilities during the evening for all teams.

4) As we move into the winter season, watch the weather and make your decision to come to games based on the current conditions in your area. We will post any cancellations on the web page and the facebook page as quickly as we can.
5) Because of security issues last season, we are restricted to the area immediately around the gym on game nights. The convenors will review the washroom locations with each division, but under no circumstances are we allowed into the school during games. Alarms will sound if the door to the main school is opened, or if anyone attempts to go upstairs to the second floor.
6) Do not open the school doors to let someone in under any circumstances. Please notify the divisional convenors immediately so that the situation can be dealt with.
We are guests in the schools where we play, and we need to follow these few rules so that we can ensure a safe environment for all of our participants and make sure that no damage is done to our host facilities.

Activity this week

Evaluations in all divisions are now completed. This is a reminder to everyone that we have no activity for players this week (September 16-19). The meeting for all coaches is Wednesday night September 18 at 7 pm at St. Pat’s, and the coaches will be given their teams at that time. Players will be notified in the days following Wednesday to let them know what team they are on, and when their practice as a team is scheduled. For parents and players – please write this information down when you get the call from the coach.

Graduate Division Update

Due to the overwhelming response for the Graduate Division (boys 13-15 as of April 1, 2014) we have decided to add two more teams to the group from players on our existing waiting list. Registration 2013

The Biddy Division is now full and we are taking a few names for a waiting list. There is still room in the Little Gals Division so if you know of anyone in the 8-10 girls age group that may be interested in playing this season please contact Roland Billings at roland.billings@sympatico.ca. All other divisions are full and we are not taking any more names for this season.

Registration 2013

Registration 2013 is now complete! Here is the status by Division: Little Guys – boys 8-10 – full and not taking any more names. Biddy – boys 11- 12 – 4 places left; Graduate – boys 13-15 – full and not taking any more names; Little Gals – girls 8-10 – 40 spaces left; Girls – girls 11-14 – full and not taking any more names. Registration 2013 is Tomorrow!

Registration 2013 is now less than 24 hours away. Tomorrow morning, Saturday September 7, 2013 is registration day for the Knights of Columbus Basketball League. The event will take place at St. Patrick’s School, 158 Patrick Street from 9-10:30 am. Cost for the season is still $10. Don’t forget!

Registration 2013

Registration 2013
Four days from this writing registration for the 2013 -14 season of the Knights of Columbus Basketball League will be completed. Don’t be one of the people that forgot about registration and missed a season of basketball “Just for The Fun of it”. Registration is Saturday September 7 from 9-10:30 at St. Patrick’s School – 158 Patrick Street. Cost for the season is $10. Proof of age is needed to register. If you can’t be there for any reason, we do allow someone else to register your child, but a parent or guardian of the child must sign the copy of the registration form that we keep for the child to be able to play.
