We are at a point in the season where we continue to bring players on to teams from our waiting lists to replace others that have conflicts that have caused them to stop playing with us. Because of that player movement, there is a need to move players within the divisions to balance the teams. We do this to make the games a more enjoyable and positive experience for all of the players involved in our program. This is not new, and it is something that we informed everyone about before the season started.

As parents and caregivers we expect your understanding that it will be necessary for your player to switch teams, and to help them, along with our leadership group, transition to the new team.

These moves are done with the best interest of all players involved in the league , and we remind you that the coaches involved are all volunteers and are not the drivers of these decisions, so they should not be approached directly in an attempt to change the decision made by our leadership.

Our fund raising event at the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery Brigade Association is less than a week away! Join us on Saturday November 1 at 193 Ontario Street to enjoy music with the band Hat Trick from 8-11 pm and enjoy music from the British Invasion as well as other music you know by heart. Michael K Myers vocals, Dan Charbonneau’s guitar playing and the backbeat supplied by Mark Ready on the drums will have you singing in your seats and dancing the night away in this high energy show again this year. Tickets are only $15 and are available in person at the RCHA Club or by calling 613 542-8152 for credit card purchases. Don’t delay!

We wanted to bring everyone up to date with an uptake on donations that have come in this month.

We received a significant donation from Zoe Yanovsky and Chez Piggy / Pan ChanCho again this year to support what we do.

At and after the Five Guys event we received donations from the Harris family, Alec Murray, Neil and Mary Neasmith, David and Lind Shane, and anonymous customer, not associated with the league, and the Amey family which, when added to the $683 Five Guys Corporate donation, brings our event total to $903.

Yesterday we also received another significant donation from an individual that wishes to remain anonymous.

All of us involved as the league leadership continue to be overwhelmed by the community generosity to support what we do for the children in the community. To all of you that make donations, but t-shirts and clothing, that support the canteen and our fund raising events, and come out to cheer for your players on game nights- Thank you for believing in us, and trusting us to do what we do to keep the dream of Don Petersen alive and thriving. Don’t forget our annual Fund Raising Event at the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery Brigade Association is coming up on Saturday November 1 from 8-11 pm. The band Hat Trick will be supplying the music again with lead vocalist Michael K. Myers leading the way, with the amazing Dan Charbonneau on lead guitar, and Mark Ready supplying the back beat on the drums. They will be playing some music from the British Invasion along with lots of songs you know by heart. We will have door prizes too, and at $15 this is a night of entertainment you won’t want to miss.

Tickets are available from Roland Billings until the end of the day Friday October 24, and then you can get them only through the RCHA either in person or by calling the club to pay with a credit card. This event has sold out every year so don’t put off buying your tickets! With so many pre-event dining options available this is a great evening out opportunity!
