Today Virg Allegrini, a former player, coach and a long time supporter of what we do will be retiring as owner of Pasta Genova on Wellington Street. The store will continue under new ownership and Virg will be there for a short time to help with the transition.
Over the years Virg has always looked for ways that he could help our program. At St. Pat’s he would bring in cases of water to help the canteen, and when he coached the rich and delicious smell of his home made Focaccia was always looked forward to! He has supplied gift certificates for fund raising events over the years, and has always been a financial supporter that preferred to remain anonymous. We can’t keep quiet about that anymore. THANK YOU VIRG! Thank you for a lifetime of caring, thank you for proudly wearing our t shirts around the store, thank you for your unwavering sense of community for our organization and so many others around Kingston, and most of all, thank you for believing in what we do for the children under our care. To me you have been a league supporter but more importantly, someone I could trust and call my friend.
No one deserves a happy retirement more than you. You have lived a life of caring and difference making that you can be very proud of. Congratulations! Roland
