Congratulations Queen’s University Football Hall of Fame Inductees

Last night at the Isabel Bader Centre Queen’s University hosted the Induction ceremony for the 2025 Inductees into the Queen’s Football Hall of Fame. Among those being recognized were three long time supporters of our program as builders. Congratulations to Frank Halligan, Doug Jeffries and Mike Postovit.

For many years Frank, through the Paul Halligan Trust, has funded players from our program attending basketball camps in the summer, and as a parent of players that have played in our program, he knows and supports what we do for the children in our community.

Doug Jeffries and Mike Postovit through their MANY years working at CKWS Television have covered what we do with features on the league and our volunteers, registration and our banquet. We are but one of the local organizations that benefitted from their passion for local sports, and their desire to every day shine a light on the heartbeat of the community where we live that is represented by children learning to love a sport. Doug has continued to influence the next generation of athletes as coach of the Jazz in the Biddy Division since his retirement from CKWS. Congratulations to all three of these very special individuals. We are proud of your association with what we do.

Rounding out the 16 individuals inducted last night were players Joel Dagnone, Ryan Granberg, Cam Innes, Osie Ukwuoma, Tim Pendergast, Sam Sabourin, Dan Village, and Derek Wiggin. Other builders honoured along with Frank, Doug and Mike were Ron Augustine, Pat Sheahan, Pat Tracey, CKWS Sports legend Max Jackson, and Whig Standard reporter Claude Scilley.

The inaugural 1882 team was also recognized along with long time supporter Lois Hazlett, who was given the Loyal Legacy Fan of Distinction recognition.

If you have read this far, I want to remind you that Queen’s plays York today at Richardson Stadium at 3pm.
