Registration update and answers to FAQ’s

There is now less than two weeks until registration for the 59th season of Knights of Columbus Basketball on Saturday September 7 from 9-10:30 at St. Pat’s School at 158 Patrick Street. Here are some answers to frequently asked questions about registration. Question: I have heard that you have to be at the school at 4 am to get signed up is that true? Answer: No. In the past there have been some hardy souls that camped out overnight to be the first in line but that has not been the case for a number of years. We do recommend that you get there early, and we will make sure that the school is open as soon as possible to give those in line access to the washroom facilities. Question: What are the age cut off dates between divisions? Answer: The ages for all of our divisions this season is the age that the player will be on April 1, 2014. Question: I am going out of town that weekend. How can I get my child registered? Answer: We understand that this can happen, and we allow someone else to register your child on registration day. They will need proof of age and the registration fee. You will still need to sign the permission form since we can’t allow someone else to do that on your behalf. Please do not ask members of our league executive to do this for you. Question: I would like to coach this season – how do I do that? Answer: We have a volunteer table at registration where you can sign up to volunteer. Any adult volunteer must have a police background check before they can assume that role. We do not require student volunteers to have a police check. We are fortunate to have many long service coaches in our organization so you may not be able to coach in the division your child plays in, but we do need help with timing, scoring and officiating on game nights.
