Donations Update

This week we received a significant donation from Al and Judy Duncan, Miles and Claire Brackenbury’s grandparents, with the following note: “We are happy to be giving this donation in honour of Miles being conferred with a Master’s degree from Queen’s University. Your basketball programme is one he has always appreciated and respected.”

Our thanks to Mr and Mrs Duncan for honouring Miles in this way, and for believing in what we do for the children in our community. We too are very proud of Miles achievements academically, and all that he has done to support our league as a volunteer and supporter over the years. To the Duncan’s, Miles, Claire and the entire Brackenbury family, thank you for being difference makers. Roland

Congratulations AJ Carscallen and Adam Mignault!

Today the KASSAA Football AllStars were announced and introduced at Richardson Stadium. Two of our coaches, AJ Carscallen ( Biddy) and Adam Mignault (Graduate), were named First Team Defensive All Stars.

Congratulations to both of these former players for this exceptional recognition! Your commitment to make a difference for our players, and your skill in football show what special people you are. Adam was not able to attend the event but we did get a photo of AJ.

Thank You Queen’s University Women’s Basketball Team!

I am very happy to tell you that the Queen’s Wonen’s Basketball Team today donated 10 pairs of gently used basketball shoes to our program to be used as needed. The shoes are now at the Graduate Division.

Our thanks too to former player and Queen’s Assistant Bridget Mulholland for facilitating this donation and delivering the shoes today. We wish all of you success the rest of the OUA season. The Gaels are currently on an 11 game winning streak and their next home games are January 16 against Guelph and January 17 against York.

Thank you for believing in what we do, and for making a difference in the lives of our players and their families! Roland

Donations Update

I am very happy to report that we received two very significant donations in support of our program last week.

The first was from a local downtown business with generational ties to the league that wishes to remain anonymous. The owner of this business is a former player and coach whose children also played in the league. He has been a long time supporter and knows first hand the impact Pete’s league had on him growing up.

The second donation came from current Little Guys coach and former player Sean Donnelly. Sean also represents a multi generational connection to what we do.

For both of these donations, the connection to the league family is real, and their belief in what we do for the children in the community is personal. Our thanks to you and your families for your generosity in wanting to make a difference in the lives of players and their families. You should be very proud of that. Roland

Donations Update

We wanted to bring you up to date on some significant personal donations to our program made by individuals that believe in what we do for children in the community.

Lindsey O’Donnell is a parent and former player in the league that understands the positive impact playing on a team can have of youth.

Doug and Tim Utting made donations in recognition of Sarah Utting whom Doug described in his note as “a big advocate of the league”. The family does donations instead of family gifts at Christmas and chose us as the recipient.

Graydon Garrett, a former player donated a basketball to us as a Sneaker Draw prize when he was home from university on the east coast this fall. Graydon has been a believer in us and continues to make regular donations of equipment for the league.

Our thanks to all of you for believing in what we do. Your donations will go directly to making a difference in the lives of our players and their families this season. You should be VERY proud of that. Roland
