The new St. Lawrence gym will be having their official opening on Friday November 23 with basketball games against the Centennial Colts and our players and families are invited! The women’s game starts at 3:30 and the men’s game at 5:30. Plans are to have hot dogs served between games. This is going to be a beautiful facility to enjoy basketball and an opportunity for us to support the teams that have been such big supporters of our program over the years. Some of the logistics of the opening are still being worked out, but we wanted you to save the date. We will keep you informed over the next weeks. Our thanks to Kevin Biggs, Maggie Stevens and the SLC Administration for including our players in their planning for the official opening. Let’s not disappoint them.

I just checked out the 14 day weather forecast and see that we are fast approaching the need for long sleeve t shirts, cozy 1/4 zip sweatshirts and touques! – all of which can be purchased or ordered from our merchandise team between now and Oct 25 on game nights. Don’t delay!

Yesterday Martin Harris and the Kawartha Credit Union donated four basketballs to our program. These will be used in the graduate Division, and we thank both Martin and the Kawartha Credit Union for the donation, but more importantly for believing in what we do for the children in the community. They made a difference in the lives of the children in our program. THANK YOU!

We are trying to reach Howie Moulton from our Little Guys Division waiting list . If you know Howie’s family please have them contact Roland Billings at 613 548-8790 so we can place him on a team. We need to hear back by end of day Friday or we will need to move on to the next player.

Update at 9 am – Howie has been found! Thanks for the help in getting us in touch with his family. He will be on the court in Little Guys next week.

Our Five Guys Burgers and Fries Dine to Donate event is just over a week away! On Wednesday October 17 $1.00 from every burger, milkshake and poutine sold between 5 and 8:30 pm will come back to the league. Tom Doyle and his staff are looking forward to being our hosts, and we are looking forward to some great food while we make a difference for the children in our community. See you there!
