New Date for the St. Lawrence College / Pete Petersen Basketball League Recognition Event

The new date for our fund raising and recognition event with St. Lawrence College will be this coming Saturday afternoon, February 3, with the SLC Surge women playing at 1 pm and the men at 3 pm against George Brown. In conjunction with the basketball on court, St. Larry’s Pub will donate $1 from every food item sold between noon and 5 pm on Saturday afternoon back to the Pete Petersen Basketball League. It is also Seniors Day for the teams where graduating players will be recognized along with other special recognitions. There is no entry charge.

Make your plans to come out and enjoy some great basketball and great food in one stop for family fun. I hope to see you there!

Our special thanks to Kevin Biggs and Chris Moreland for working so hard to make this event happen in short order after the cancellation last week because of the storm.

Special Olympics Basketball

On Saturday Special Olympics Kingston held their 20th Annual Basketball Tournament at Holy Cross and the Pete Petersen Basketball League supplied officials for the event, as we have for its entire history. Our thanks to our volunteers that gave up a Saturday to make a difference in the lives of the participants, and a huge shout out to Concetta Buragina and the Special Olympics Kingston volunteers for their amazing job organizing the event. The B Division final was a hard fought two point win for the Ottawa Shooting Stars over the Kingston Magic.
