A reminder that if you have not already ordered your tickets for the special Knights of Columbus Basketball League night with the Kingston Frontenacs on Friday February 13, 2015, THE DEADLINE FOR ORDERING TICKETS SO THAT WE GET A $3 DONATION PER TICKET IS FRIDAY FEBRUARY 6. What better way to kick off the Valentine’s Day weekend than with a chance to see the Kingston Frontenacs take on the Oshawa Generals while also making a contribution to the basketball league? Tickets to the game are available at $15 each, with $3 from each ticket sold coming back to the league. Go to the link below to order your tickets on line. If you don’t have computer access, but would like to purchase tickets, Sam and Amir from the Frontenacs organization are planning on being at the gym again this week on Tuesday and Thursday to sell tickets with a portable debit / credit card machine. There are a number of “special” features that kick in depending on ticket sales so we will keep you posted as we reach those sales milestones. Don’t delay your ticket purchase to enjoy a night with the Frontenacs! If you know of others that might be interested please share this post. Due to the weather conditions and drifts in the back yard at St. Pat’ s making access there impossible, the games in both the Graduate and Biddy Divisions tonight are cancelled.

We will continue to monitor the weather forecasts and radar make a decision on games tonight by mid afternoon. Because we are getting questions about the games we will post here when the decision is made. Our normal procedure is to post only if games are cancelled.

This week we received two significant donations in support of our program. The United Steelworkers Local 343 made a $500 donation to the league to support our work with the youth in the city, and the staff at Medical Arts Pharmacy donated $255 that they had collected at their Christmas Party in memory of Carm Londry, a long time coach and supporter of the league. Carm is shown in the first photo in the Vintage K of C Volume 21 collection. The Carm Londry Trophy is given annually to the player in each division that shares the ball the most. Carm was a big believer in keeping the ball moving and he had a deadly two handed set shot. We miss hime in the gym, and we appreciate the donation by his family and friends at Medical Arts, and the donation by Tracey Simpson and the USW 343 membership for their belief in what we do.
