Kingston Police and Kingston Youth Strategy Event MAY 6

On Friday May 6, 2016 the Kingston Police and the Kingston Youth Strategy, will be hosting the second annual Youth Week basketball game in Springer Market Square. National Volunteer Week

April 10-16 is National Volunteer Week in Canada, so we wanted to take a moment to say thanks to the more than 100 volunteers that made our basketball league possible last season. To the thousands that have volunteered with the league that Pete built over our 61 year history, your commitment and belief in what Don Petersen started is testament to what volunteers can do to make a difference. The statement made on the Volunteer Canada web site is “Volunteers are the roots of strong communities”. You are the roots of our organization too.
To see most of our volunteers from last season holding the Volunteers Grow Communities Award presented to the league last April by the United Way, go to our Facebook page. To ALL of our volunteers, and the more than 12.7 million volunteers across Canada, thank you for making our communities better places to live through your actions.

Five Guys Dine To Donate Results

On March 1 we had our second “Dine to Donate ” night with the downtown Five Guys Burgers and Fries location, and I am happy to announce that we raised $133 at the event. In total this season, adding in the corporate and customer donations, we have raised $359 for the league from this partnership. Our thanks to the Five Guys Corporate team, the staff at the downtown location, and especially to all of our league families and friends that came out to support the league at these events. Our discussions with Five Guys continue, and we hope to continue these fund raising events again next season.
