Holy Name School

Last week our league representatives were invited to come to Holy Name School at Kingston Mills to participate in the unveiling of new basketball backboards and rims that had been installed at the school thanks to a grant from the Pittsburgh Community Benefit Fund and the school community council chaired by Nikki Irwin. It was great to attend and to see the work that had been done to ensure that there were baskets on both playgrounds, and that lines had been painted on the pavement as well to facilitate their use. The bottom line is this. Thanks to the hard work and commitment of these groups, and the support of the school and ALCDSB leadership, the children in the Holy Name community have a new place to play and learn how much fun being around a basketball court can be. Thanks for the invitation!
